Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance Road Show
It was another regional win for Southwest Florida. This past week, economic development professionals from both Lee and Collier Counties presented the Southwest Florida region to commercial real estate executives from all over the world at the CoreNet Global Summit trade show.
Our second collaborative event of this kind, the program provided a tremendous opportunity for our region to present as a cohesive team. It was an impressive three day program with more than 2,500 attendees from 23 countries. Our booth was colorful and visually depicted the very best of what Southwest Florida has to offer. Our representatives from Cape Coral, Naples, Fort Myers, and Bonita Springs were prepared with fact sheets and compelling collateral materials. Enterprise Florida, the principal economic development organization for the state of Florida, was a participant too. We were able to show their leadership team our “A” game and a professional regional presence that helps solidify the marketing message for the entire state.
For me, this is a long overdue home run for our region. I have always been an advocate of joint marketing of all our economic development assets, allowing us to present a robust inventory of sites for folks looking to expand or relocate. As a group, we are getting comfortable touting each counties strengths and specialties, while highlighting our impressive infrastructure and environment. This makes for a strong marketing message all branded under the banner of Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance. These joint marketing efforts are a giant step forward for our region. I applaud the leaders in Lee and Collier County who were able to finally make this happen.
