2015: A Reflection of Growth, Prosperity and Potential
2015 was a year of growth and prosperity for more than just Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance. It’s been a flourishing year for southwest Florida as a whole. As we grow in business development and economic opportunity, our forecast also swells with projections of continual, upward trends in economy, work-life balance and appeal.
Take a look at just some of our highlights from 2015:
Marketing Activities of SWFL Economic Development Alliance
The alliance is charged with helping to coordinate recruiting efforts and promoting the area as a region, with all five counties in Southwest Florida represented. Site selector consultants can rely upon the SWFLEDA online data repository to conduct confidential research on behalf of their clients.
In 2015 we expanded our collaboration with our website and marketing consultant, iPartnerMedia, to launch our social media and search engine optimization campaign to complement our robust website. As a result, our online reach has extended to the point where we reached 78,300 individuals with our social media posts in the fourth quarter of 2015.
We established our headquarters in Fort Myers, and hired an Operations Specialist to join President Eric Berglund in orchestrating SWFLEDA’s efforts. The office is centrally located in our region and easily accessible via major travel corridors from all directions. Berglund has become a reliable, leading voice for local media channels and publications like The News-Press.
Southwest Florida is an Attractive Location for Business Headquarters
Improved transportation infrastructure, exceptional work-life balance and substantial economic growth has attracted several major companies to relocate or establish an expanded presence here, including Hertz Corporation, Gartner, Camuto Group as well as Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation. Interstate 75 has expanded as well as our airports and ports, and more young professionals are flocking to our region than ever before.
And this is only the beginning! Statistics from several sources have ranked southwest Florida within the top 10% of Nice Places to Live, and projections show that we will be steadily growing over the next few years.
It’s no wonder why we’re looking forward to 2016!
