







Family Activities
Southwest Florida has many opportunities for family fun. These include: award-winning beaches, skating, fishing, wilderness adventures, water parks and much more.
Babcock Wilderness Adventures is located on the Babcock Ranch Preserve in Charlotte County offering an old Florida setting for eco-tours, hiking and exhibits. Recreational hunting and horseback riding are also available.
Bamboozles Skating and Event Center
Bamboozles is a skating center that hosts events for birthday parties, corporate and private events, school events, and lessons.
The Southwest Florida region has over 20 white-sand beaches and hosts many events including: beach volleyball, Frisbee, football, parasailing, swimming, dog beaches, shelling, and tanning.
There are two beach parks in Port Charlotte and Englewood; Port Charlotte Beach Park and Englewood Beach/Chadwick Park. Both parks have amenities such as: BBQ grills, birding, fishing, horseshoes, picnic shelters, playground, restrooms, and swimming pools.
The Fort Myers Skatium is an ice skating arena and athletic gymnasium. Additional offerings include ice and in-line hockey leagues, freestyle skating, educational classes, birthday parties, and is ISI and USFSA certified.
Lakes Park is a 279-acre facility and has 158 acres of freshwater quarry lake with depths up to 20 feet. The lake has bass, bream, fresh and saltwater fish, alligators, Ibis, Egrets, Herons, Cormorants, and Anhingas. Due to the large variety of wildlife the park is known for good bird watching and photographic opportunities.
Mike Greenwell’s Family Fun Park
Founded by former Boston Red Sox left fielder Mike Greenwell, who is also an alum of North Ft. Myers High School, Mike Greenwell’s Family Fun Park has several batting cages, go-carts and paintball. Special events include an annual Haunted Hike, Safe Trick or Treat, and an Easter Bunny Trail.
“Sun-N-Fun Lagoon has over one million gallons of water, four pools, a lazy river, a splash playground, five water slides, a concession stand, and several other amenities”.
Sun Splash is a 14-acre location with attractions including: a lazy river, tot spot, flumes, and other rides.
One of the most popular beach accesses, Vanderbilt Beach Park has white-sand surroundings, sea oats, rest room access, bird watching, shelling, and paddle boarding.
“Zoomers Amusement Park is an indoor/outdoor park that has an arcade, games, rides, attractions, and party rooms. Some of the rides include: the Cobra Rollercoaster, Voodoo Island Mini Golf, Go-Kart tracks, Bumper Boats, Tilt-a-Whirl, and Midway rides designed for small children”.
